Production Batch
This sideboard comes from a Piombini production batch and has remained available in its raw state, before the finishing stage. It is a new piece of furniture that is now being added to the Piombini Archive under a dedicated condition.
At the time of ordering, it will be completed in our carpentry workshop in the finish chosen from those indicated on this page, following the same artisanal processes and the same quality standards as Piombini production.

The pleasure of a home that resembles us
A home slowly acquires character. Through what we choose to keep, what we let go of, and the objects we decide to live with.
D'Este belongs to this way of living. It enters a space naturally, finds its place, and lets time make it part of the home.
It holds what is needed and what matters to us. The table for special occasions, the glasses, a well-chosen bottle, the linens, the objects we prefer to keep close. Everything finds its place. Nothing needs to be displayed.
The elegance of discretion
The smooth doors let the wood speak. Light passes through its grain, the proportions remain calm, the presence is measured.
It is not a piece of furniture that seeks attention. It is one of those pieces that, over time, seem to have always belonged to the home.
Perhaps this is the hardest luxury to achieve: surrounding ourselves with a few carefully chosen things and still wanting them after many years.
Piombini Archive
The Piombini Archive preserves furniture that belongs to our manufacturing history and deserves to continue living in a new home.
The D'Este sideboard is arranged with two side doors and three upper drawers. Behind each door there is an internal wooden shelf, movable and adjustable, to adapt the space to different storage needs.
In the center, the piece includes a pull-out bottle and glass rack compartment, discreetly built into the structure and easily accessible when needed.
A function you can't see
The upper front also includes a small concealed central drawer. Without a handle, it opens through a push-pull mechanism: a light press on the front allows it to open while, when closed, it remains perfectly integrated into the sideboard's design.
Woods chosen according to their function
The construction combines different woods and wood-based supports, chosen according to the function of each element.
The structure, frames, top bands, door frames and base are made of solid Toulipier wood. The drawer structure is in poplar plywood, while the fronts are in veneered blockboard in Tanganika walnut wood and Toulipier.
Door panels, sides, bottoms, top, partitions, backs and shelves are made of plywood and veneered blockboard in Tanganika walnut wood.
Mechanisms and hinges are made of brass or zamak alloy with an antiqued finish, chosen to harmonize with the cabinet's classic character.
Handcrafted finishes
Piombini finishes are not just simple colors applied to the surface. They are created through successive processes that prepare, color and refine the wood while leaving its grain and natural character visible.
In the wood finish, the depth of the woods and their natural pattern are highlighted. In lacquered finishes, wear, antiquing and patina effects are worked by hand especially along frames, profiles and details, creating depth without artificially flattening the surface.
For this reason, slight differences in tone, shade and intensity are part of the nature of handcrafted workmanship and contribute to the identity of each piece of furniture.
Furniture care
To preserve the wood and finish over time, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and proximity to heat sources. Do not place very hot objects directly on the surfaces, and take care with candles, diffusers, oily products and substances containing alcohol, ammonia, solvents or acids.
For daily cleaning, use a soft, slightly damp cloth and then dry the surface. Wood is a natural material: grain, tone and slight variations may evolve over time with light and environmental conditions.
Piombini Finishes
Material, color, harmony
Piombini finishes are design choices. They are created to bring balance between furniture, light, walls, fabrics, leather and the atmosphere of the home.
Each shade has a distinct character: it brings warmth, adds depth, lightens an arrangement, gives a study a more distinguished feel or makes a bedroom more welcoming.
A finish should be chosen thoughtfully. Its value lies in the overall effect: it creates harmony, continuity and style throughout the home.
Classic Finishes
Piombini's classic finishes bring out the furniture's authentic character: the warmth of wood, the depth of handcrafted details, and the distinctive appeal of antiqued and patinated surfaces.
The collection includes one wood finish, four full lacquer finishes, and four two-tone lacquer finishes. Each option brings elegance, rich texture, and craftsmanship to classic furniture.
Wood finish
A wood finish leaves the grain and natural color variations of the material visible. It is the choice most closely tied to the tradition of classic furniture: warm, rich and full of character, bringing the natural beauty of the wood to the fore.
It complements the wood, enhancing its grain, subtle tones and understated presence that makes each piece of furniture slightly different from the next.

To maintain the quality of your furniture over time, the simplest rule is also the most effective: do as little as possible.
For routine cleaning, a soft, dry cloth is all you need. If necessary, use a slightly damp cloth and dry the surface immediately.
Avoid standing water, steam, direct heat sources, radiators and prolonged exposure to sunlight.
Do not use alcohol, acetone, solvents, ammonia, harsh detergents, abrasive sponges, waxes or polishes that are not specifically recommended for the furniture.
Do not place very hot, wet or damp objects directly on the surfaces.
We also recommend avoiding direct contact with silicone-based materials, such as certain feet or pads used under alarm clocks, televisions and decorative objects. Some silicones can affect the furniture's finish. To protect the surfaces, use standard felt pads instead.
Only use doilies that have not been treated with chemicals or stiffening agents applied during ironing.
Once your bedroom furniture is in place, we recommend waiting at least two weeks before placing objects on its top surfaces, to allow the finishes to settle in their new environment.
