There are pieces of furniture that make a house feel like home
Not everything that makes a home important has to be large. Sometimes all it takes is a well-chosen presence, one that can bring order to the space and, at the same time, make it more personal.
D'Este was born for this. To welcome the things that belong to everyday life and those we choose to keep. A family heirloom, the tablecloth for special occasions, the glasses waiting for dinner, small objects that time has given meaning to.
Inside, what we want to preserve. Outside, a presence that accompanies the home without dominating it.
The luxury of feeling at home
A house becomes ours when it stops being just a furnished space. When everything finds its place and certain pieces of furniture quietly begin to become part of our story.
That is the value of D'Este: not to follow time, but to become part of the life of the home.
Piombini Archive
The Piombini Archive preserves pieces of furniture that belong to our manufacturing history and deserve to continue living in a new home.
The D'Este sideboard is arranged with two doors, three drawers and two internal wooden shelves, movable and adjustable, which make it possible to organize the space according to different needs.
At the center, a pull-out bottle and glass holder compartment introduces a functional solution integrated into the design of the cabinet, easily accessible when needed and discreet when the sideboard is closed.
Woods chosen according to their function
The construction combines different wood species and wooden supports, chosen in relation to the function of each element.
Structure, frames, top bands, door frames and base are made of solid Toulipier wood. The drawer structure is in poplar plywood, while the fronts are in veneered blockboard in Tanganika walnut wood and Toulipier.
Door panels, sides, bottoms, top, partitions, backs and shelves are made of plywood and veneered blockboard in Tanganika walnut wood. The decorations are enhanced by genuine Canaletto walnut wood.
Mechanisms and hinges are made of brass or zamak alloy with an antiqued finish, chosen in harmony with the classic character of the cabinet.
Handcrafted finishes
Piombini finishes are not simple colors applied to the surface. They are created through successive processes that prepare, color and finish the wood while leaving its grain and natural characteristics visible.
In the wood finish, the depth of the woods and their natural pattern are highlighted. In the lacquered finishes, wear marks, antiquing and patinas are worked by hand especially along frames, profiles and details, creating depth without artificially evening out the surface.
For this reason, slight differences in tone, shading and intensity are part of the nature of craftsmanship and contribute to the identity of each piece of furniture.
Furniture care
To preserve the wood and finish over time, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and proximity to heat sources. Do not place very hot objects directly on the surfaces, and be careful with candles, diffusers, oily products and substances containing alcohol, ammonia, solvents or acids.
For daily cleaning, use a soft, slightly damp cloth and then dry the surface. Wood is a natural material: grain, tone and slight variations may evolve over time with light and environmental conditions.
Piombini Finishes
Material, color, harmony
Piombini finishes are design choices. They are created to bring balance between the furniture, the light, the walls, the fabrics, the leathers, and the atmosphere of the home.
Each shade has a distinct character: it brings warmth, adds depth, lightens a composition, makes a study more authoritative, or a sleeping area more welcoming.
A finish should be chosen with care. Its value lies in the whole: it creates harmony, continuity, and style throughout the spaces.
Classic Finishes
Piombini’s classic finishes enhance the furniture in its most authentic identity: the warmth of the wood, the depth of the handcrafted workmanship, and the character of antiqued and patinated surfaces.
The collection includes one wood finish, four solid lacquered finishes, and four two-tone lacquered finishes. Each option interprets classic furniture with elegance, substance, and craftsmanship.
Wood finish
The wood finish leaves the grain and the material’s natural color variations visible. It is the choice most closely tied to the tradition of classic furniture: warm, deep, lived-in, and able to bring the natural beauty of the wood to the forefront.
It complements the wood, enhancing its pattern, its shades, and that understated presence that makes each piece of furniture slightly different from the next.

To preserve the quality of the furniture over time, the simplest rule is also the most effective: do as little as possible.
For routine cleaning, simply use a soft, dry cloth. If necessary, a slightly damp cloth may be used, drying the surface immediately afterward.
Avoid standing water, steam, direct heat sources, radiators, and prolonged exposure to sunlight.
Do not use alcohol, acetone, solvents, ammonia, harsh detergents, abrasive sponges, waxes, or polishing products not specifically intended for the furniture.
Do not place very hot, wet, or damp objects directly on the surfaces.
It is also recommended not to place silicone-based materials directly on the surfaces, such as some pads or supports used under alarm clocks, televisions, and decorative objects. Some silicones may alter the furniture’s finish. To protect the surfaces, it is preferable to use ordinary felt pads.
Doilies should only be used if they have not been treated with chemical products or fixing substances applied during ironing.
After the bedroom furniture has been installed, we recommend waiting at least two weeks before placing objects on the top surfaces, so that the finishes can stabilize in the environment.

“I had the chance to appreciate not only the quality and beauty of the furniture, but above all the seriousness and care this furniture maker shows its customers even years after purchase. From the very beginning, I was assisted with great availability by Loris from customer service, a thoughtful, professional, and truly helpful person, who was able to advise me on the best solution to solve my problem.
Despite being about 700 km away, he personally went out of his way to find a qualified installer in my area, showing a level of availability and customer care that is far from taken for granted. I was extremely satisfied with the work carried out, performed with great professionalism, precision, and expertise by the company I was referred to.
So I can say with great satisfaction that the quality and reliability of the Piombini brand, as well as the beauty and craftsmanship of its furniture, go far beyond a simple purchase: it means continuing to be followed and supported even after years.
Congratulations to all the staff and, in particular, to Loris for the professionalism and availability shown. Highly recommended! 👏”
